KreteWall Systems
Engineered Retaining Wall Systems

Resources for Engineers & Architects

Preconstruction support, budgeting, and system coordination for engineered retaining wall systems.

KreteWall Systems works with design teams to evaluate precast modular retaining wall solutions during early project phases, helping align constructability, cost, and system selection with project goals. We are a specialty subcontractor — not the Engineer of Record.

Civil infrastructure and site engineering context

Applications

When precast modular walls make sense

Field-oriented criteria civil engineers, architects, and project managers use when screening wall types during SD, DD, or early civil packaging — not a substitute for site-specific engineering.

  • Grade transitions where a compact footprint or staged installation suits the civil layout
  • Sites that benefit from accelerated wall installation relative to formed cast-in-place work
  • Projects aiming to reduce cast-in-place concrete scope in the wall line
  • Walls where an architectural facing or modular finish is part of the site design intent
  • Long runs or repetitive geometry where modular production and setting rates help sequencing
  • Detention or pond-adjacent conditions when global stability, drainage, and hydrostatic assumptions are explicitly addressed in the EOR / geotechnical package

Design teams

Preconstruction & design support

KreteWall Systems can assist design teams during early and intermediate project phases with:

  • Preliminary budget pricing based on conceptual layouts and stated assumptions
  • Wall system selection discussion — modular precast versus cast-in-place or other approaches
  • Constructability input tied to access, staging, crane or lift assumptions, and site sequencing
  • Coordination of delegated wall system design with criteria from the Engineer of Record
  • Shop drawing and submittal process planning aligned to your CM or owner requirements
  • High-level compatibility review against project constraints (geometry, ROW, utilities, drainage interfaces)

Scope

Delegated design approach

KreteWall Systems provides delegated design for the proprietary retaining wall system based on criteria established by the Engineer of Record and geotechnical engineer.

  • Wall system engineering performed by qualified professionals under delegated design practice
  • Coordination with project geometry, elevations, and loading assumptions issued by the EOR / geotech team
  • Shop drawings and calculation packages prepared for review — not unilateral approval of overall site design

Disclaimer

KreteWall Systems' role is limited to the retaining wall system design. Overall site stability, surcharge determination, drainage design, and global engineering remain the responsibility of the Engineer of Record and project design team.

Preferred system

Preferred precast wall system

KreteWall Systems utilizes the Novum Wall system as a preferred precast modular retaining wall solution for select applications.

  • Large-format precast facing units set as a modular system
  • Reinforced soil mass developed with geosynthetic reinforcement per delegated design
  • Installation rates that often compare favorably to cast-in-place for comparable heights and access
  • Facing options suitable for commercial and civic projects where architectural finish is specified

Estimating

Budget pricing & concept support

Early coordination can help align wall system selection with project budgets and site conditions.

KreteWall Systems can provide:

  • Conceptual budget pricing when only partial geometry or criteria are available — with stated exclusions
  • Feedback on whether a modular precast approach is feasible given access, height, and reinforcement assumptions
  • Input on constructability and sequencing impacts relative to mass grading, utilities, and paving milestones

All pricing and system recommendations are subject to final engineering, geotechnical recommendations, and project-specific criteria.
